Lamontichthys Filamentosus 3–3.5” Live Rare Freshwater South American Catfish

The Sturgeon Catfish (Lamontichthys filamentosus) is a rare and highly distinctive South American armored catfish known for its elongated body, flattened profile, unusual appearance, and impressive filament-like fin extensions as it matures. The fish you will receive is approximately 3–3.5 inches.

This species does best in a mature, well-filtered aquarium with clean, highly oxygenated water and good water movement. Driftwood, smooth rocks, shaded areas, and secure resting surfaces help create an appropriate environment.

Sturgeon Catfish should receive a varied diet and should not rely solely on naturally occurring algae. Offer quality sinking foods, algae wafers, vegetable-based foods, and appropriate supplemental protein.

It is generally peaceful and can be kept with appropriately sized, non-aggressive tankmates. Avoid overly aggressive or highly competitive species that may prevent it from feeding properly.

Professionally packed with oxygen and insulation for transportation. Photos are representative; natural differences in coloration, markings, and fin development may occur.

You will receive 1 healthy Sturgeon Catfish (Lamontichthys filamentosus) approximately 3–3.5 inches.
