Peacock Bass are active, powerful predatory cichlids that require large aquariums with excellent filtration, clean water, strong oxygenation, and sufficient swimming space. Their adult size can vary considerably depending on the exact species or lineage, so a very large aquarium should be planned for long-term care.
These fish are intelligent, alert, and highly responsive to their surroundings. Although juveniles may initially be kept together, territorial behavior and aggression can develop as they mature. Suitable tankmates must be carefully selected based on size, temperament, and compatibility.
As carnivores, Royal Silk / Snakeskin Peacock Bass require a varied, protein-rich diet. They can be offered appropriately sized frozen or thawed shrimp, fish-based foods, and quality carnivore pellets as they become accustomed to prepared foods. Live feeder fish are not necessary and may introduce parasites or disease.
This variety is an excellent choice for experienced aquarists looking to raise a beautiful and distinctive Peacock Bass with fascinating predatory behavior and impressive potential as an aquarium centerpiece.
Each fish is carefully selected and professionally packed with oxygen and insulation for transportation. Photos are representative; coloration, markings, patterns, and overall appearance may vary naturally. Fish are sold unsexed.
